Welcome to 117 Forrer Boulevard!

This Dutch Colonial center entrance home is located in lovely Oakwood, Ohio.   Oakwood is a wonderful community featuring beautiful tree-lined streets, excellent schools and numerous community amenities, such as a community center, pool, parks, and tennis courts.  Centrally located and accessible by major highways, Oakwood is an easy commute to Wright-Patterson AFB, as well as downtown Dayton and other surrounding business areas.

The house was built in 1923, with a major addition in 1999.  With its brick and vinyl siding exterior, it is eye-catching and attractive while being extremely low maintenance.  Professional landscaping in the front and back.

The Main Floor

Upon entering, you are welcomed by an oversized foyer flanked on one side by glass French doors leading to the dining room, and on the other side by an expansive living room.

The living room features a handcrafted inlaid wood mantle, a working gas fireplace, and recessed lighting. Window treatments and pleated shades remain with the house.

French doors provide a dramatic entry to the dining room. Details such as six inch baseboards and crown molding unify this room with the rest of the home.

The family room is just off the living room. Airy and bright, the family room features oversized Pella French doors, which lead to the back deck.

Completing the circular floor plan is the large kitchen. Located just behind the dining room, the eat-in kitchen features a stainless dishwasher and refrigerator and a dual oven gas range with a fifth burner.

Hardwood floors and light cabinetry are accented by black countertops and trim on windows and cabinets. The overall effect is sleek and modern, but fits perfectly in this Oakwood home.

Just off the kitchen is a small powder room. Shiny black tile floor, French fixtures and a scalloped mirror keep you from running for an upstairs bathroom!

The Second Floor

The lovely Master Bedroom is the highlight of the second floor. Saybrook Sage walls and white trim accentuate the working gas fireplace. A vaulted ceiling adds a feeling of space and openness, and a palladium window adds light.

A full wall of double doored closets provides ample storage, and California closet built-ins keep it all organized.

The tastefully updated bathroom provides a full sized shower which doubles as a steam bath. Vaulted ceiling and palladium window. Dark wood vanity and mirror and Italian tiling.

The second bedroom, located toward the front of the house, also has a vaulted ceiling and palladium style window. Powder blue walls and a tall closet with built-in storage.

The third bedroom, located at the rear of the house, features double windows with 2 inch white wooden blinds.

It is painted a neutral beige, and has a very large double closet with automatic door activated light. For light control, the skylight features a remote operated Velux shade.

The fourth bedroom could also be used as a his & hers home office or studio. Filled with natural light, it features a skylight with remote Velux shade, vaulted ceiling and ample closet space.

The second bathroom on the second floor is airy and bright, with a graceful pedestal sink and a deep whirlpool Jacuzzi tub. Shower enclosure.

The Basement

The basement fulfills many roles: gathering place, laundry room, workshop and storage area. The finished area is amply sized and could be used for a second family room or children’s play area.

A built-in bar next to the staircase features a wine rack with recessed lighting and dimmer switch.

The large laundry room with sink is cheerfully painted with an island motif. It houses a water softener, which reduces lime build-up on plumbing fixtures in the home. The storage area and workshop of the home also house dual hot water heaters and the newly installed American Standard 95% efficient furnace.
